How to Add an M3U Playlist to VLC

VLC is one of the simplest ways to test an M3U playlist, since it's free, available on nearly every operating system, and needs no account or extra setup.

Step 1: Open Network Stream

Open VLC and go to Media in the top menu, then choose Open Network Stream (on some versions, this is under File → Open Network).

Step 2: Paste Your M3U URL

In the network URL field, paste your M3U URL exactly as it was provided with your subscription. Avoid retyping it manually — a single character error will cause the playlist to fail.

Step 3: Play

Click Play. VLC will fetch the playlist and begin playing the first stream in the list.

Step 4: Browse the Full Playlist

To see every channel rather than just the first one, open VLC's playlist view:

• Windows/Linux: View → Playlist (or Ctrl+L)
• macOS: Window → Playlist (or Cmd+Shift+L)

This shows every entry from your M3U file, and you can double-click any of them to switch streams.

Saving the Playlist for Later

Since your subscription's M3U URL updates on our end, there's usually no need to save a local copy — just repeat the "Open Network Stream" steps each time. If you do want a shortcut, most versions of VLC let you save the currently loaded playlist via Media → Save Playlist to File.

If VLC Won't Load the Playlist
